BA Studio is an independent architecture and design firm in Frankfurt – a place of dialogue, curiosity and transformation. Here, we create spaces that are more than mere shells: they tell stories, touch the senses and inspire rethinking.

What drives us is a passion for aesthetic and functional design – and the joy of combining unusual forms with practical requirements. We explore architecture with openness, courage and enthusiasm. Every design is a new experiment, every task an invitation to push boundaries – creatively, functionally and conceptually. Our working method is free, artistic and playful. We challenge conventions, explore new uses and develop spaces that not only provide answers but also pose questions.

For us, people are at the center of attention. With our architecture, we don't just want to design spaces, but also stimulate thought processes – open up new perspectives and enable different viewpoints. Our goal is for clients to draw energy from our work, find clarity and rediscover a piece of their own identity.

Whether it's a renovation, new construction or artistic intervention: we work in an interdisciplinary, sensitive and resource-efficient manner – with a keen sense of material, atmosphere and context.

Biography

I work primarily in residential architecture, interior design and scenography. I began my studies in architecture in Munich and continued at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, where I explored the intersections of architecture, visual art and graphic design. My thinking was deeply influenced by my professors Peter Cook and Enric Miralles, whose poetic and expressive approach shaped my understanding of contemporary architecture.

I started my career at the Frankfurt-based studio Atelier Markgraph, working on scenography, exhibition design and trade fair projects. In 2000, I founded my own studio to pursue an independent and experimental way of merging space and design.

Early projects included a private house in Zadar (2003–2005) and a viewing tower for the German Weather Service (2006). I went on to design spatial installations for Adidas, the Alte Oper Frankfurt and the Jewish Museum Berlin. In 2010, I developed an architectural concept in the form of an exploded star for the anniversary exhibition of Stroemfeld/Roter Stern Verlag.

A key project in 2011 – the Stuttgart flight simulation center – marked a turning point in merging space and graphic language, which later informed the design of the new TV studios for 3sat (Kulturzeit, nano, scobel), where each studioset was derived from the brand’s logo (2015–2016).

From 2017 to 2021, I was Executive Creative Director at Cheil MDLab, where I led the strategic and creative development of retail and exhibition environments for Samsung. Since 2022 I have been working independently again for various clients and agencies.
